"Living in today's society almost demands access to a cellular telephone. Here is an unconventional use that recently came in handy:
"Two employees were on break near a staff parking lot when they heard a thud. They looked up and saw a vehicle had backed into a parked truck and was departing the area. They were able to get the suspect's vehicle license plate number, though neither had a pen or paper.
"One of the staff members entered it into her cell phone memory so she wouldn't forget. The license plate number was subsequently given to law enforcement officers, who were able to locate the vehicle and its owner. Quick thinking and a cell phone were a great help.
