The Sentinel-Prox CBio Fingerprint reader performs a fast and extremely accurate one-to-one optical comparison of over 40 minutiae points on an individual fingerprint. The fingerprint template is easily and quickly downloaded to a 16k secure PicoPass chip contained in either an ISO-compliant printable smart card, or the incredibly small Bio Wafer from AWID. This method gives the users the ultimate in security, privacy and convenience by allowing them to carry their own fingerprint template. Performing this one-to-one comparison eliminates concerns about privacy and data storage, eliminates template management issues, and allows for remote installations without connecting readers to a common database.

The intuitive enrollment software allows the programming of a cardholder number as well as a primary and secondary fingerprint template to the CBio ISO16 card or Bio Wafer. After the CBio Fingerprint Reader verifies the fingerprint on the card/wafer and compares it to the finger presented to the reader, it sends the cardholder number to the access control panel via industry-standard Wiegand data format.
An optional CBio Secure Module can be added to the system allowing for encryption of the Wiegand data from reader to panel, as well as activating a "card only" mode via relay output from the access panel. Standard output formats and wiring connections make the CBio reader an easy and profitable retrofit technology.
