URGENT: Control4® Mobile Navigator Update for iPhone 3.0

Control4® Mobile Navigator Version 2.0 (current version) is not iPhone OS 3.0 compatible.  After being upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0, an iPhone/iPod Touch will not run Control4 Mobile Navigator Version 2.0 correctly. 

We anticipate that Version 2.1, which will be iPhone OS 3.0 compatible, to soon be available for download from the App Store.  We expect Apple to approve this important update and post it to the App Store in the next few days.

7 November 2005 - How can you be a proper couch potato if you have to get up to pull down the shades, flick on the lights, turn up the heat, turn off the oven, and see who's at the door, all the while fiddling with the controls on your home-theater system? The answer: Make your home smarter. Thanks to the digitization of many consumer-electronics products and the rise of personal Wi-Fi networks, you can buy a wireless system for little more than $400 that will let you control many of the moving parts in your home from a touchscreen pad or remote device. Recently I tested four home-automation technologies. My conclusion: They are simple enough that most of us won't need a network engineer to use them. The most elaborate setup I sampled required an installer, and came from Salt Lake City-based Control4. The company makes equipment that uses your wired and Wi-Fi Ethernet connections to organize audio, video, climate, and lighting into a single user-friendly remote device or several wall-mounted LCD screens throughout the home. I had the installer equip my media room and bedroom with units to control my entertainment systems and lighting. The equipment: a touchscreen pad and remote device to control media with infrared blasters, wireless lighting keypads, and a smaller mini-touchscreen in the bedroom. Together, it cost about $4,000 and took just over three hours to install and program.

February/March 2006 - To quote Janet Jackson (Ms. Jackson if you're nasty), “This is a story about control.” And whether your lifestyle is Joe Schmo, Average Joe, or Joe Millionaire, control is something we can all use a little more of in our lives.

Fortunately, achieving some level of control over our A/V systems is easily done. Replacing that pile of remotes with a universal model that makes movie watching or music listening a single-button affair is the first step, and it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Viagra-maker Pfizer has announced a plan to use radio frequency technology to fight drug counterfeiters, John Jordon, president worldwide field operation at
Tagsys, said Tuesday.

On Dec. 15, Pfizer began putting radio frequency identification tags on all Viagra shipments in the United States in an effort to detect counterfeit pills, five million of which were seized by authorities last year.

Pfizer will spend approximately $5 million on the project and has tapped two RFID tag companies for help. The pharmaceutical company plans to read "in the hundreds of thousands of tags monthly," Jordon said. Tagsys specializes in assisting companies tag individual items, not cases and pallets. "Every bottle has the tag integrated in advance under the label. We didn't change their production line at all," he said.

Today we find ourselves with yet another significant growth opportunity—that being the ability to create another channel to market with the critical mass necessary to satisfy the smallest and simplest applications to the largest and most sophisticated. We will therefore now bring a complete and product-rich portfolio into the marketplace through the newly created entity: Gamewell-FCI.

Gamewell-FCI will combine the best of Gamewell and the best of FCI into one sales, marketing and support network. Gamewell-FCI will stand apart with its unique combination of Technology and Tradition that’s unavailable from any other source.

We look for this growth offensive to very much benefit our Distributor partners by providing product access, market reach and operating leverage that neither Gamewell nor FCI could achieve by operating in their separate niches.
